The rings are sturdy and easy to use for a crotchet project as I did. I wish they had been available in the store in a larger diameter.

So far, so good. I had purchased a Halloween flag online, which came without the little cloth tab that keeps the flag from sliding down the pole. I didn't know if the flag was intentionally made this way, which meant that returning it for a replacement might not help, and I didn't want to tear the top of the flag apart in order to add a cloth tab, so I decided to hand sew a ring inside the pocket at the flag top, so I could clip it to the flagpole. It seemed fine when I tried it out, but I'll really find out durable the ring is when I put the flag up in Oct.

I don't use these for the conventional things.  I do use them as reinforcement for stitched eyelets on garments that are laced to fit, and I use the larger ones (the 1" ones) as supports for making Dorset buttons.  I find them indispensable.
