This is my first yarn swift, and it does the job well. I attach it to my desk to wind yarn, and once screwed in place, it's sturdy throughout use. It's easy to adjust and spins smoothly. I was so excited to finally get a swift, after wasting so much time winding yarn ballss by hand. Unfortunately the wood on this product is unfinished and the milling too tight on the spindle that it couldn’t spin freely. Nor could I get the umbrella arms up. Disappointing.
