Make your own reverse canvas with just a few dollars and just a couple of hours!

The very first step is to remove the canvas from the wood that it's stapled onto.&nbsp;
You will flip the canavs over so that the backside is currently exposed, and you will take the utility knife and cut, very carefully, on the outside of the staples. (Alternatively, you could remove the staples. Sometimes they are very thick and hard to remove though.)&nbsp;
When you are cutting the canvas, you want to be careful about the corners, don't cut across four ways. You want to keep the canvas whole.&nbsp;
After you have removed the canvas, you can either try to remove the staples, or you can pound them in. You will want the back to be somewhat flat and even.&nbsp;

Deconstructing the canvas

Your canvas is off, so you should now have a shell of wood. This is really personal preference: I personally like to stain mine, but you can leave it the natural color or you can even paint it.
You can skip painting the back, but don't skip the inside or the bottom!

Preparing the wood

At this point, I am sure you have an idea of what you want the canvas to say.
If you are familiar with using a cricut, my "go to" suggestion is to do the following:
<ol>
<li>Insert the shape of a square, and measure it 4" x 4"</li>
<li>Create your saying in the font(s) you have chosen, and the layout</li>
<li>Make sure the words all grouped together so they move as one unified objec</li>
<li>Take the square and "send it to back" so you can take your phrase and put it right on top.</li>
<li>Your phrase should be LESS than 4"x"4. I will usually give myself a one inch margin all around.</li>
<li>When you are happy with how the layout looks in the square, DELETE THE SQUARE!</li>
<li>Send to cut, mirro, than weed it.</li>
<li>After you weed your vinyl, set it on top of the canvas and then set the wooden frame on top. You want to make sure that you had given yourself enough room.</li>
<li>Remove the wood, and iron down the design.&nbsp;</li>
</ol>

Time for vinyl!

Now the fun part. Putting it together!! Practice setting the wood on top of the canvas a few times, because you really have to eyeball the placement. If you are using hot glue or super glue, time unfortunately won't be on your side.&nbsp;
Carefully spread your glue on the backside of your wood, paying the most attention to the corners. Don't go too thick, it's not necessary.&nbsp;
Once you are happy with how much glue you have, set the wood on top of the canvas. Hold it down in place for a few minutes or set a heavy book on top.
Once the canvas fabric is no longer moving, leave it laying down in the same position, and carefully take your exacto knife and trim the excess canvas that's spilled over.
You are all done!!! Display it proudly!
