Blue tiger's eye is a blue chatoyant mineral. It has a silky luster and scores a high 6 or 7 on the Moh's hardness scale. It is composed of silicon dioxide and if left for longer will turn into the golden tiger's eye. This gem also has a trigonal crystalline system. The round beads in this jewelry set are the blue tiger's eye beads while the spikes at the center of the necklace are howlite that has been dyed blue. Howlite is naturally white to cream and can have inclusions. This necklace is about 21" long. The earrings are three blue tiger's eye beads on sterling silver wire shaped in a rounded triangle and dangling from sterling sliver French hook ear wires. The earrings are about 2" long.
