This painting was done from a box turtle found in my yard. He wouldn’t sit still for me, so we compromised. I placed him on a slope that he steadily climbed up and slid down at the same rate. He got to keep moving and I got a still subject. Afterwards, he was returned to my (his?) garden with a nice snack for his “cooperation”.
