Celtic Ring Knife

Product Description

From the Stone through the Iron Ages, peasants, woodsmen, tradesmen and farmers all relied heavily on their knives as all in one tools to handle any job. The Celtic smiths developed a heavy duty knife that could be relied on for any task. The thick blade made quick work of chopping limbs yet was short and dexterous enough to handle skinning and cooking dinner. The ring handle set this simplistic blade apart as it functioned like an integral pommel ensuring the user wouldn't lose grip no matter what the situation. This is a hand forged replica of that splendid knife. The blade and handle are forged from a single piece of 1055 - 1080 carbon steel to be strong and durable. The leather wrapped handle gives this it an amazing comfortable grip that belies its simplistic design. Blade length is approximately 6 inches with a 1/4 inch thick spine though it may vary some as each piece is hand forged to order.
