When I create jewelry, I start from the center — a beautiful pendant, unique beads, a design template — and spiral out to the finished product. I add more — beads, colors, details — until the piece radiates a calming beauty. I don’t always know what an item of jewelry will look like when I begin assembling components, but I start from the center and trust that my aesthetic instinct will follow the path that the beads need to take. I’m inspired by the beads themself. I’m inspired by color and shape, mathematics, and the view outside my window. I’m inspired by 10,000 years of jewelry artists and their artistic creations. I’m inspired by life. From the beginning, I realized that one size does not fit all, and neither does one style. (And I would be bored. Seriously. Bored.) I had no desire, ever, to look like everybody else or to become the least noticeable shade of beige. From the beginning, I believed in making the best possible product, and guaranteeing it forever. I create to express what's inside me. I create to make sense of the world. I create to add beauty, no matter how ephemeral. I'm a one-woman business, and I surround my world with art.
