These are Job's tears, also known as Cherokee Seed Beads. It is believed that when Job was stricken of the Devil, and when he lost everything he had including his family and was on his very death bed, he cried with such grief that his tears hit the earth and a miracle happened. God permitted a beautiful plant to spring forth from the Mother Earth for Job to remember Gods love, beauty and providence. Today, it is worn as a memory to the triumph and victory that we have through Christ and the survival of Gods called people yet a rememberence of the trials faced, for it is said, a man cannot know his future if he does not know his past. The copper is representative of the color of the earth, to give rememberence that we are of the earth and to the earth we shall return. - Genesis 3:19 The name earth spirit implies that because all things are interwoven and all things are made of the mother earth and her sacred elements, when we pass on from this life to our sacred future, our bodies will return to the earth and become earth again.
