I love making these. I hand made these, stitching them together with needle and waxed thread. Each signature has been cut by hand to conform to the individual curves of each half of the shell. Each sketchbook is thoughtfully handmade using premium 140 lb. watercolor paper, known for its exceptional durability and versatility. The shells themselves have imperfections which are reflective of the turbulent nature of the sea. As natural objects the shells have small imperfections like chips and slight variations in color and texture which I select for because I feel this makes them more beautiful and organic, adding to the charm and the handmade quality of the book.
