Goldstone Teardrop Copper Chain Spiral Layered Statement Necklace
Four hundred years ago in Murano, Italy, a glass artisan accidentally spilled copper filings into a vat of molten glass. The copper melted and crystallized into a myriad of tiny sparkling flecks in a coppery glass solution. Goldstone is sometimes called aventurine glass, from the root word meaning accidental. These flat rounded teardrops are 1-3/16 x 7/8" (30x22mm). A black hand-made spiral hangs from a copper chain to the middle of the teardrop. The spiral coil is a symbol for the mysteries of the universe, Labyrinth, inner searching, and female sexuality. Five teardrops are strung with copper-colored (dyed) cultured freshwater pearls. Pearl is the birthstone for June. A copper plated chain is layered just above the pearls. Both strands connect to a beautiful flower toggle clasp. The chain is 18-1/4" (46.5cm) long. The pearl strand is 19-1/2" (49cm). If you separate the layers and put the chain in back of your neck, the necklace becomes 36" (90cm) long. Two pair of matching earrings are available and sold separately: 231592007105839104 231594274848571392 Jewelry is gift-ready in either an organza bag (default) or gift box upon request.
