Love to watch the hummingbirds at your feeder? Give them a spot to rest--help your tiny bird friends out with a perch swing! Hummingbirds beat their wings thousands of times per minute. Phew, that's got to be tiring. They can't hop like songbirds, so resting on the ground would make them vulnerable to predators. Perching is the only safe way they can take a break. Provide this swing and enjoy helping them out, but also giving yourself the gift of viewing a hummingbird that's not in motion! Makes a great gift for bird lovers, too. I craft my swings from metal wire, beads (some of which are upcycled from old jewelry), and twigs, branches, or driftwood which I've lightly sanded so hummy's little feet have a better grip.
