Beautifully crafted from a hand picked Southwest Florida Oyster Shell, this is an original artwork created by Captain Carolyn Simoneau. All shells are hand collected from the waters around Sanibel Island by myself and my husband John while on our dolphin, shelling and sightseeing boat tours we run from our business Beach Buddy Tours-Cape Coral Dolphin Tours in Cape Coral Fl. The shells are collected, cleaned and then made into unique, one of a kind treasures. For this creation, the shell was hand painted using high quality pearlized metallic paint for the base and thinned alcohol based art markers to create a smiling blonde mermaid. The edges were then trimmed in liquid gold leaf and the piece was sealed in lacquer. This original piece is roughly 4" x 3" wide and 1.5" tall. A protective acrylic disk has been attached to the bottom of the piece to ensure no scratch marks from the oyster shell to your furniture. Please message me with any questions!
