Our chests made from solid wood & have brass colored hardware on the top, darker bronzed hardware around the sides/front/back. Some stains will leave a wash of stain on the hardware (whitewash, grey, black). Wording is painted in white, black, silver or gold paint. Smalls can fit up to 10 characters per line, 2 lines Mediums/larges up to 18 characters per line, 2 lines Chests come with either a decorative or locking hasp. The locking hasp comes with a lock & key of choice. A decorative hasp will NOT fit a lock. A slot can be added in the lid (3" is ideal for money & 7" for cards/letters) SIZING: Approx. Size. Number of cards that fits depends on card size/thickness/etc. Small- OUTSIDE : 7.75 x 5.75 x 6 INSIDE: 6 7/8" x 5 1/8" x 3 1/4" (up to the top of the bottom portion of the box- domed lid, when closed goes up additional 2 1/8" in center) *Small is TOO SMALL for standard cards. Recommended for advice cards Medium- OUTSIDE: 9.75 x 7.75 x 8.5 INSIDE: 9.25" x 7.25 x 4 5/8 (up to top of bottom portion of the box) *50+ cards Large- OUTSIDE:12.75 x 10.25 x 10 INSIDE: 11.75 x 9 3/8" x 5.25" (up to the to bottom portion of the box) *90+ cards NOTE: Made from natural wood. Inside joints are glued for added security. There will be spots on the inside the stain doesn't absorb due to the glue, that may look unstained. Shading will vary piece to piece and from photos, depending on underlying wood. Wood grain will show through the stain on all colors as is the nature of stain!
