Our chests made from solid wood & have brass colored hardware on the top, darker bronzed hardware around the sides/front/back. Some stains will leave a wash of stain on the hardware (whitewash, grey, black). Wording is painted in white, black, silver or gold paint. We do not use stickers! Wording can be done with up to 2 word. Map (dotted line with X) will be added unless requested otherwise. Chests come with either a decorative or locking hasp. The locking hasp comes with a lock & key of choice. A decorative hasp will NOT fit a lock. A slot can be added in the lid (3" is ideal for money & 7" for cards/letters). Only a 3" slot can be added to small size! SIZING: See size comparison in photos above. Sizing provided is approximate OUTSIDE dimensions. Number of cards each holds depends on size and thickness of cards Small- 7.75 x 5.75 x 6 *Small is NOT recommended for cards. Recipe box size, best for money or very small items. Medium- 9.75 x 7.75 x 8.5 *Holds approx. 50+ Large- 12.75 x 10.25 x 10 *Holds approx 80+ NOTE: Each is made from natural wood. Inside joints are glued for added security. There will be spots on the inside the stain doesn't absorb due to the glue, that may look unstained. Shading will vary piece to piece and from photos, depending on underlying wood. Wood grain will show through the stain on all colors as is the nature of stain!
