~ DESCRIPTION ~ So many plates at the store are perfect for if you want to offer cookies and Milk for Santa, but not so much if your offerings are a bit more on the heathen side. This tray is designed for if you wish to start, or carry on a tradition of leaving offerings for the Yule Father and his loyal horse Sleipnir. This offering plate is Basswood and the design is handburned by me, so each tray will be different. It is also sealed with four coats of Polyurethane on the front and two coats on the back, as well as six coats around the edges to help the bark stay on. ~ About the Yule Father ~ To some, Yule is still considered a holy period. Like other winter solstice holidays, it celebrates the promise of light again triumphing over darkness and the rebirth of the sun. During Yule, all the gods are honored, especially Odin – who is also referred to as Jólfaðr (Yule Father). ----------------------------------------------------- ~ SIZES & MATERIALS ~ This tray is 15 inches wide, 12 inches tall and 0.5 inches thick It is also sealed with four coats of Polyurethane on the front and two coats on the back, as well as six coats around the edges to help the bark stay on. To clean the tray, just wipe it off with a damp rag. This is not dishwasher safe.
