Thrin's Whimsy

Welcome to Thrin's Whimsy! I'm Thrin, and we make really unique earrings that are fun to wear! The beads are surprisingly lightweight, because they are made out of polymer clay. That's a type of material found at most craft stores. To create these wonderful, wearable works of art, we go through a whole process. After we choose which colors we would like to use, we condition each bit individually, in an old-fashioned pasta machine, so it becomes more pliable. It reminds one of the consistency of play-doh. Then we mix the colors together, cut them into the desired size, and squish and twist them into shape. In this process we put them on the headpin, and then set them on a tile to bake in the kitchen oven. Once they're cooled, we glaze them with a glossy polymer clay glaze to give them just a little bit of that nice shiny pop, to help them truly stand out. Then we bend, cut, and twist the tops of the headpins into loops, and hang them from hypoallergenic, 925 Sterling Silver Ear Wires. Finally, Voila! They're ready to go. We put them on a card and take a photo, and post them up for your perusal. Thanks for looking! We'd be happy to answer any questions. Cheers! ~Thrin
