Welcome to Will o Wisp Leather Goods! Thanks for stopping by. I am a mixed media artist creating aesthetically pleasing yet useful everyday items. I love to work in leather and primarily work with vegetable-tanned leather (not vegan :) a question I get often). Vegtan for short, simply applies to the tanning process applied to the leather. This is the type of leather you see used in high-end shoes, bags, and saddles. What makes it so appealing to me and a versatile medium is the ability to carve, tool, and wet mold which allows me to make all kinds of fun things (think masks, small sculptures, earrings, etc.! I'm not limited to clothing, I can create virtually ANYTHING). What I love most about it is seeing the transformation that takes place when you apply stain or antique gel to an almost-finished piece.
