Caron® Cakes™ Crochet Kerchief Scarf

MEASUREMENTS: Approx. 60" long x 15" wide (at widest point)

GAUGE: 13 sc and 14 rows = 4"

Project Note: The number of Skeins needed to complete this project is 1-Caron® Cakes™ Yarn - Jellyroll 

1st row:(RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc). Turn.

 

2nd row: Ch 3. 2 dc in next dc. Turn. 3 dc.

 

3rd row: Ch 3. 1 dc in first dc. 1 dc in each dc to end of row. Turn. 4 dc.

 

4th row: Ch 3. 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. 2 dc in last dc. Turn. 5 dc.

 

5th row: Ch 3. 1 dc in first dc. 1 dc each dc to end of row. Turn. 6 dc.

 

6th row: Ch 3. 1 dc in each dc to last dc. 2 dc in last dc. Turn. 7 dc.

 

Rep last 2 rows, inc 1 dc every row at same edge, until work measures approx. 30” along straight side edge.   

Beg dec: 1st row: Ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each dc to last 2 dc. Dc2tog. Turn. 43 sts.

2nd row: Ch 2. Yoh and draw up a loop in next st. (Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) twice – beg dc2tog made. 1 dc in each dc to end of row. Turn. 42 sts.

 

Rep last 2 rows, dec 1 st every row at same edge until there are 2 dc.

Next row: Beg dc2tog.

 

Fasten off.   

Tassels: (make 2)

Cut a piece of cardboard 8" wide. Wind yarn around cardboard 30 times. Break yarn, leaving a long end, and thread end through needle. Slip needle through all loops and tie tightly. Remove cardboard and wind yarn tightly around loops ¾" below fold.

 

Fasten securely. Cut through rem loops and trim end evenly.

 

Sew 1 Tassel to each point of Kerchief.
