Teach kids how fun the art of block printing can be by using foam sheets and paint. Just draw your image - in reverse - deeply into the foam, paint with craft paint and print! In a few simple steps, you have a block-printed original masterpiece.

Instructions

Step 1:

Using a pencil or pen, draw a picture on the foam. Be sure to draw  over lines so that they are deep.

Step 2:

Pour out a puddle of craft paint onto a piece of palette paper and dip foam brush into it. Apply broad strokes of paint onto the foam. Avoid getting paint into the grooves of the lines you drew if possible.

Step 3:

Place construction paper onto the foam while the paint is still wet and rub the back of the paper so that the paint on the foam will transfer.

Step 4:

Peel paper off and let dry.

Step 5:

Trim off excess paper around the image.

Step 6:

Adhere the printed page onto a solid piece of construction paper.

Step 7:

Share your project photos with #MadeWithMichaels
